Foot Tools

Introduction

Some martial artists believe that high kicks are worthless when it comes to street confrontations. But I believe that having a good repertoire of low/med/high kicks will help you a lot in defending yourself on the street.

High kicks, if executed correctly and with good judgment may end the confrontation in a matter of seconds. It depends on how you execute them and when to execute them. For example, you can launch a series of shin kicks and when your opponent gets conditioned on your attack, you suddenly release a devastating high kick to his face. It fairly depends on your strategy. Remember, the foot is a lot more powerful than the fist.

  4. Jumping straight kick

Although these kicks are not advisable in actual combat practicing them helps to improve balance, coordination and target focus that are needed in a real encounter.
