Hand Tools

Introduction

If you are good at kicking but have poor hand techniques, then you're done in the street. Let's face it. You may impress a lot of people out there with your fancy spinning kicks and high-flying jumping kicks but what if your opponent closes up on you and you have no room to throw those kicks of yours? I think that is a scenario many of us would like to avoid. But the fact is once you are in a street confrontation there are no rules. You can't tell your opponent to back off and give you room to execute your kicks. That is the reason why, as a JKD man and martial artist in general, we must backup our kicking skill with a fairly good amount of punching. How many times have we heard the story of a black-belter being beaten by an average street kid with just one punch to the face.
